2. Check that the size of your pliers matches the snaps you intend to fasten.
3. Choose the location for your snap and use an awl to create a small hole in the fabric.
4. Place a cap and a socket into the pliers, aligning them with the hole made by the awl. Repeat this process with a cap and a stud for the other side of the snap.
5. Squeeze together a cap + socket and then a cap + stud.
6. Once both sides of the snap are installed, the socket and stud will click together. If either side feels loose, reposition it in the pliers and squeeze again.
